Our  commitment to our Cotons, pups  and the breed is a  lifetime  commitment.  We seek families   who understand  the responsibility  of quality care pet ownership  as a lifetime commitment  and  especially the lifetime commitment of a Coton pup from us.  This commitment requires for us our thorough screening process as we make decisions for our Coton pups. First in that process,  we ask questions of the interested potential forever families that have contacted us. Describe a typical day  for your family during the week and on weekends? Describe your home environment, (Indoors and outdoors)? What are some of the activities your family enjoys?  COTON DE TULEAR BREED RESEARCH: What type  research have you done on the Coton de Tulear breed ? What have you learned  about the Coton de Tulear breed? Thus far, what have you learned about the care and grooming of the Coton? Have you had a chance to review our website here and meet our Coton family and the humans of the Mountainaire Cotons? Have you met a Coton as yet in person? PAST AND FUTURE: What past experiences have you or others in your family had with dogs?             Or other pets? If you had a dog in the past what formal,(with a trainer) or informal,(on your own) training did your family do with your dog if any? Do you currently have any pets, if so describe? Some families prefer to not adopt a pup but seek out older already trained companions, are you considering a puppy for your family?  If not a pup what  age of Coton or dog are you considering?  Have you considered a "rescue dog", i.e. adopting from a "breed rescue organization" or local shelters in your area?  What other breeds have you considered? Briefly describe the Coton/dog you envision in your family? (boy or girl,  with color or mostly white, approxiamate weight, personality traits and etc?) When are you desiring to add a Coton/dog/pup  to your family. Send along any information you are comfortable sharing at this time  that you think would be helpful to us.  We do have our puppy adoption  questionnaire we send out to families who we are considering...we receive alot of inquires and prefer to start with some basic questions as above before sending out our pup questionnaire.
